Obesity: A Deadly Disease to Overcome

Obesity or Over weight, whatever it be called. Both mean “a house of illness”. The much believed concept that people suffer from obesity due to being foodies is completely foolish. Obesity is not only the result of less calories burnt from what you ate but also includes several other psychological factors which we tend to disdain.

If asked, what is obesity in simple words, would anybody answer? I don’t think so. The only thing which comes to the mind is accumulation of fats which gives rise to obesity. Well, in order to make it bit a more simpler, let me help you find a way out of this confusion. However before that, let me make one more thing clear; obesity and over weight have fine lines of difference amongst them.

Over- weight is defined as having extra weight due to muscles, fats and bones, and to some extent water. Obesity, on the other hand is the presence of high amount of extra body fats.

The main causes of Obesity besides eating are – environmental cause which includes the dietary, physical exercise, attitude and lifestyle habits. The Parental Behavioral patterns also influence it. The main reason that persuades obesity rates now are psychological. Due to undisciplined life and unconditional life style people tend to live a life where they tend to suffer from depression, insomnia and frustration which leads to obesity.

The alarming issue in todays fast running life is Child Obesity. Parents tend to overlook it at an early stage. It has been statistically proved that girls tend to suffer more than boys as far as obesity is concerned.

Eminent figures are now showing their concern towards the raising issue of Obesity. The “Let Move” Strategy introduced in the month of February by the First Lady, Michelle Obama was outlined as a campaign against obesity. The New York State Health Foundation (NYS Health) supports a program called B’N Fit to help obese children.

Qualified scientists are way ahead in finding solutions to prevent the alarming problem of overweight in children. According to researchers, Seaweed is said to reduce 75% fat uptake. It is a dietary fiber and hence reduces the amount of fats getting absorbed. Apart from eating, Laughter is also said to help in curing obesity. As, with laughter the heart beats better thus enhancing the flow of blood. The expansions and contractions of chest as well as abdominal muscles help in an effective work out. Last but not the least, according to the researchers, Drinking red wine or white wine, beer or spirits keeps off pounds. It inverses the risk of becoming obese.
